Can a person’s ROI be measured?

Can a person’s ROI be measured?

It’s a dangerous question.

Here’s why...

When you think about ROI, it’s easy to say: let’s take this person’s salary and see if we’re getting out what we put in.

But it’s not that simple.

Each of us is a complex human being, and we bring things to the table that aren’t always easy to quantify. Like how we make customers feel, how we support the people around us, or how we bring teams together to achieve goals.

And of course, we should all be held accountable for helping the business move forward financially.

But when we only look at financial metrics, we miss the whole point of why teams exist in the first place.

Working with other people is fulfilling. We grow from one another. We challenge one another. We accomplish more together than we ever could alone.

That creates success for the business and fulfillment for the people behind it.

So before you ask that question, make sure you’re looking at the whole picture and get your shift together.
