“The smallest detail can change everything.”
I care deeply about the human side of leadership, and my purpose in life is to empower leaders to become the best version of themselves. I’m drawn to what motivates them, what challenges them, and what helps them perform at their best.
I act with integrity, communicate with honesty, and create environments where ideas are welcomed and strengthened. I pay attention to details others often miss, especially the ones that unlock clarity or transform a team’s dynamic, and I inspire audiences to see those details in the organizations they lead.
I believe most people are capable of far more than they realize. My job is to help them see it, feel it, and bring it into their daily work.
Beyond the Work
“I believe the best solutions are found on a bike, which is why I take mine for a spin almost every day.”
I’m committed to making the world a more welcoming place. I believe optimism is a discipline, not a mood, and I work hard to practice it daily and share it with those around me.
I value growth, community, and curiosity. Whether I’m mentoring a young leader, leading a workshop, or riding my bike through the mountains, I bring the same mindset — commit to the work, stay open to possibilities, and keep moving forward.
I’m drawn to people who want to make things better — not just for themselves — but for the teams and communities they influence. My superpower is helping those people make their unique impact on the world.
Much of my life has been devoted to bringing people together for causes that matter. I created Union Square Hospitality Group’s Family Meal Program at the Jacob Perlow Hospice and co-founded Jazz for Kids at Jazz Standard.
I’ve served on boards that support youth, local businesses, and international communities. Through Chefs Cycle for NoKidHungry, I’ve helped raise funds to fight childhood hunger, and my work with World Central Kitchen at the Ukraine–Poland border changed the way I see service and humanity.
Community, to me, is built through small acts done with intention.
“Community is built, one act at a time.”
I love the process of creation — shaping experiences, building systems, and turning ideas into something real. Whether I’m improving a guest journey, coaching a leader, or rebuilding a service culture, I’m energized by that moment when clarity emerges and momentum follows.
I don’t believe in quick fixes. I believe in thoughtful work, steady leadership, and aligning people around a purpose that matters.

Where I’ve Been and What I’ve Learned
My leadership journey began at Danny Meyer’s Union Square Cafe, where I discovered my gift for working with people and shaping culture. That experience set the course for everything that followed.
I went on to:
Serve as general manager of Union Square Cafe
Co-found Blue Smoke & Jazz Standard and lead its expansion to six locations
Lead the turnaround at Hudson Yards Catering
Conceive and launch Porchlight, Union Square Hospitality Group’s first standalone bar
Conceive and launch Cedric’s Bar at The Shed
“Leadership isn’t about control — it’s about unlocking potential.”
Along the way, I learned that great service begins with great leadership, and great leadership begins with purpose.
I continue to challenge myself and investsting in my growth because I believe leaders need to keep learning. I am:
A graduate of the Heroic Public Speaking Grad program
An Associate Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation
A graduate of Cornell’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion program
An Entrepreneur in Residence at The Pillsbury Institute for Hospitality Entrepreneurship
I continue to teach at Cornell Hotel School, Columbia Business School, NYU, and the Institute of Culinary Education.
