Stop Saying What Matters. Start Showing It.

Want employees to follow?

Show them what success looks like

If you want your employees to know what's important to you, you have to tell them.

And you have to be specific.

This is especially important for new employees. It's not enough to say, "Punctuality is important to me."

Really paint a picture of what that looks like beyond what's in the employee manual.

For example, you can say: "You know, we all rely on one another here, and it's important that if your shift starts at 10:00 AM you are dressed and ready to go at 10:00 AM so that way we can all get down to work.”

Some may think that's a little over the top, but I prefer to paint a very specific picture, so then people know what success looks like.

Give it a try. Let me know how it goes.
