Stop Discounting, Start Valuing
I’ve got a surefire way to create regular guests, and it’s probably not what you’re thinking.
So many businesses believe they can keep guests coming back by constantly offering promotions, discounts, and free stuff.
That may work in the short term to get someone in the door for the first time. But it’s a terrible way to build loyalty.
Why? Because customers become attached to the promotion instead of the business. And the second the promotion changes or disappears, they may disappear too.
The best way to build loyalty with the customers you already have is to let them know they matter.
Maybe you give them access to something before it’s available to the public. Maybe you let them try a new dish before it launches. Maybe you give them a first look at a new product or design coming into your shop.
Relying on discounts doesn’t build real loyalty. Making customers feel valued does.
When people feel like they matter to your business, they build a bond with you, and they keep coming back.
Don’t just do stuff. Do stuff with purpose.
